Have an Air Gap RPM on a 408 and it's a happy thing. It is a real stump puller...makes over 500 lb-ft of torque from 2K to 5800. Makes over 470 all the time. I have a 6K RPM chip in my MSD box and so I never miss the "high end" - going to put the 6500 RPM chip in which should just about max out that intake, my cam, and valve springs...

The RPM Air Gap does present some clearance issues. Found in my SPF that even w/ a 3/8" carb spacer, the cobra oval air cleaner was rubbing on the inside lip of the hood. Sadly, we had to remove it. Fortunately, we found on the dyno that the spacer made less than 5HP difference...and that was from no spacer to 2" spacer and everything in between.
