timing chain spacer
The spacer that goes on the shaft in between the timing chain and damper has a slight groove in it. I wanted to replace it and went to Ford. They said it was discontinued and was $115 when they did sell it. A tech there mentioned getting a front seal with a wear sleve.
Any recommendations to either find a new one or if I should go with the one I have?

What you are looking for is called a Speedi-sleeve manufactured by SKF Braeing company. It is a thin (.010?) thick metal round tube the slips over the length of the seal bearing suface. it is secured with Locktite. One installed it provides a fresh surface for the seal lip to ride on. Very common on engines with high mileage.

GO to a good auto pars store, such as NAPA.

The crank spacers are still readily available....in steel or aluminum either one. And they're not $115....
