I have experienced the following after going to fuel injection: The efficiency of fuel injection made my cars exhaust a bit quieter, the roughness or lumpiness at idle was far reduced, I'm sure the fuel mileage had to improve, the car is much more drivable and responsive and it just looks too cool!

Air Filters for TWM

Try to contact Bill Hirsch in Warren, Michigan @ Bills B Racing. Email is Stackcovers@aol.com, Tele: 586-883-0942. He's a great guy and offers a good filtered product that reduces HP at intake the least of all filters I believe. He can explain it better than me. I noticed a difference in my TWM immediately.

Bill Bryan

"One thing the fuel injection does though is put a pretty hard limit on the top RPM. Mine is 6500, but the engine ought to be capable of doing something like 8000 with a good carb setup. My engine is a Roush 427IR Windsor based."
Why do you say that the fuel injection puts a pretty hard limit on the top RPM at 6500? I am planning to put the 8 Stack Injection (Classic) units on a 427 Windsor solid roller cam engine that I expect will easily rev to the 7500 rpm + range. Does anyone have comments on this?
Thanks,
Gord

I have NEVER been limited to RPM's in the 8 years I have been running the TWM stack injection and the Redline ECU! Why would the injection system put a limit on RPM? Wouldn't that fall under the ECU's performance? My engine is a Dave Dralle built all aluminum big block FE. Could there be a difference there maybe?

Slither
I agree that there should not be any limitation of RPM by the 8 stack injection itself. That is governed by the type of lifters, valvetrain and ECU. With a solid roller cam, good valve train andfuel system and the correct ECU programmingThe power level at high RPM and is then dependent on the cyl heads, intake and throttle body flow rates. RPM achieved is governed by the mechanical components.
I suspect that the 6500RPM that twobjshelbys refers to is mainly governed by the ECU and hydraulic roller lifter valvetrain.

I couldn't agree more. Nothing wrong with a polished arruminum cobra with stack injection, if that's what gets ya goin'. Some of us just like it old school.

I too toyed with the idea of how to leak fuel into my build but then it was either Webers or a single carb.Ran an 850 dbl pmp for a few years never liked the rich idle loved everything else. Then discovered Dan Davinci he built me a 1000cfm dbl pmp all I can say is Wow, both me and the 460 could not be more satisfied and the idle is just what I had hoped for lean and nasty! EFI of any kind was never considered partly because of the expense and complicated nature of the beast, not to mention no narly idle with electronics. Finally for me wanted the old school look when hood was lifted,it speaks volumes to we old schoolers.

I love everything about the stack setup... except the COST... cant justify it yet. Clsoe to $10,000 recently quoted for a full Eight Stack system including computer and fule pump etc.
8 Stack Fuel Injection/FAST XFI Computer
429-460 cu inch Ford with 2" velocity stacks included $7595.00
Aeromotive Fuel Pump, regulator and fuel lines - AN/Steel braided high pressure : $1199.00
Polished Intake Manifold: add $599.00
Polished Throttle Bodies and Stacks : add $1099.00
100 Micron Screen Stack Covers: add $399.00
Maybe when it fails aircare emissions testing next week I can justify it
