1969 429 one piece fuel pump eccentric

I have a 1969 429 Thunder Jet that I've had since 1971 and built it last year for my A&C Cobra project. I replaced most internals including cam/timing chain/gear. I know for a fact that the one piece fuel pump eccentric did not have a Tab or hole in it - so I used locktite and torqued it down.
I'm in the process of installing the engine into the frame - however now - I'm uncertain of what to do. Do I need to rip the front of the engine off - and either Pin or drill / tap the one piece fuel pump eccentric to the cam gear? I've read else where that some of the first 429's did not have any tab or pins?
Last thing I want is for the pump to stop in the middle of no-where..... unless if it's fine then I'll leave it.

(it probably would take less time to tear it apart and fix it than to walk home from the middle of no-wheres)

Suggestion?
Thanks - PJ

The Ecccentric in a Small block has a hole that the cam drive pin locates into after passing through the cam gear, then the securing bolt goes through the eccentric and into the cam. Isn't this used on the later 385 series too?

I think I would replace the fuel pump eccentric with one with the hole in it. Ford Racing part no. M-6287-C302 is for the 460 engine and also works with the FE engines. It has the bolt hole for a 7/16" retainer bolt. Be sure your dowel pin is long enough to extend into the hole in the eccentric. Also, be sure you have the heavy washer on the retainer bolt.

I tried to drill out the bolt hole in an eccentric for a small block, but the steel was so hard my drill bit could not make a mark in it.
