Was hoping to not take the heads off they are the aluminum Cobrajet Racing M-6049-A429, 2.20 in - 1.76 ex - 72cc, port matched to Edelbrock Performer RPM.

My bad, I thought you mentioned in another post that you were thinking of doing some port work...
If you're happy with the cam you have now, switching to a hydraulic roller will be a cake walk....

I want to polish the intake and water pump maybe even the valve covers (those can wait till engine is back together) I will give Comp Cams a call and pick some brains there.
Been thinking for a long time about a solid roller again will talk to the cam people.

Comp cams suggestion with how the car is set up was near the same lift but duration increase.
Current cam flat tappet .235 @.050 .560 lift both sides
Comp Cams Suggestion .242 .248 @.050, I - .553 E - .572

I would ask the guy on the other end of the phone how many BBF's he has built. It's easy for the "tech guys" to look in their catalog and read the descriptions, but they may not be familiar with that particular engine's pros/cons.
As an engine builder, I'd be happy to make a recommendation....I build a lot of big block Fords.

just need to know what a stock 460 .40 over displaces and how much horsepower and torque I might get with a 625 carter afb.

468.3 cubes, but you'll run out of breath with a 625 afb.
Would be a good street combo, topping out at about 5000 rpm, would be better off with a 750-850 carb.
