Maybe that was for the new high performance auto trans, new for rear end housing axles, and 3 rd member, heads have been ported etc, block 4 bolt main marked dove and a big z maybe a boss block, no idea, anyway engine code is oc2r and number 04161802 also marked dove-a also marked large z , any idea what this is. Personally i collect rare pontiacs, owned the only triple white 1969 trans am was a gm factory company car, sold for 1.4 million 2 years ago, maybe the most expensive factory production car ever produced, also own my 1969 trans am ram air iv one of only 9 auto cars, they made 46 4 speed cars, all the others were ram air 3 s , i am not an expert on fords thats why i came to this forum, however the help from old members to a new member does not seem to be too friendly. Engine was nascar prepped, by heinz brothers. He may have invested 18 k in everything. No idea. Old man doesnt seem to be a liar. Doesnt mean hes right either. Any help on the possible 429 engine or 428 marked oc2r #04161802 blocked marked with a big dove-a also large z which i though might be a boss block. Ok im a ford dummy, thats wh i cme here, give me some information other than im a ford dummy. I already know that. Ty marty1034@charter.net

Ok guys why are you making fun here. I'm a car guy not a gearhead so explain.

\By the way I don't have any guns for sale but my grandfather was an avid collector of weapons and added to his grandfathers collection. He was good friends with Robert Peterson(publisher of various car and hunting magazines). In fact two of my favorites came from Peterson...Vampire Hunter Detective Special with silver bullets and holy water vial. I think he was the first to take down a polar bear with a .44 magnum handgun.

Actually I enjoy the Hotchkiss cannon and revolving cannon much better.

Pics, history and specs on the motor might help tame this crowd. They know a lot. You just need a thick skin.

Interesting, for if this is one of the original convertibles, I saw the car when it was for sale back in PA in the early 90's.

I'm very good with American muscle, however what you consider rare I may not. I mean there are always specials out there but the only rare Pontiac muscle I can recall is the '69 Trans Am convertible 400 ram air IV. I'll keep my '67 coronet hemi convertible.

two points on why the not so warm welcome..

1st is this was your first post here and you came in selling something on the open forum, should have went into the classified section.

2nd is 18k for a 429 is probably way up there in " no way" land.
for 21k you can be in a kasse boss 429 new with a warrantee. if the owner spent 18k on machining he is a fool and got robbed.

the motor is a CJ block. to authenticate what it was in, there will be some numbers stamped into the rear of the drivers side of the block right below the head.
if you truly are looking to sell it put a ad in the classified section with some pics and contact info.

not trying to salt up the wound i'm just laying out why you are getting the response that you are

Actually in 1988 or 1989 is when I first saw that TA ragtop for sale in central (west of Williamsport) PA. Needed too much work for the asking price, so I passed. I never look back at what I passed up, I would lose what little is left of my sanity if I did.

across the top there is a blue band of tabs, one of them says "For Sale"
click that and follow that to place a classified, it will allow you to upload photos, make note of the size they must be under in order to upload them.
