Changing spark plugs and installing headers on a 351W can be a bit of a challenge the first few times you do it. With a Lima motor, it will be a real PITA.

I've found the easiest way to get at the spark plugs on my 460 (in a West Coast Cobra) is through the wheel wells. Pull the wheels and plugs 1-7 are (relatively) easy to get to. I still have to change #8 from the top which is, as noted, a gigantic PITA, but it's only one. I have found I need an assortment of tools though - regular ratchet, flex head spark plug / bent shaft ratchet, short extension, etc.

I went with a 9" x 2.25" K&N filter, topped by a K&N X-Stream top. The carb (Holley Street Avenger, 770 CFM) is installed on a 5° wedge spacer to better align it with the angle of the hood and scoop. The manifold is an Edelbrock Performer 460 (Not RPM). All good with about 3/8" of clearance.

The only modification I made to the base of my air cleaner was cut about 1/4" off the lip that fits on top of the carb. I'm speaking to an installation in to a Factory Five, which, may be different than a Backdraft or West Coast. IF you stick with the stock 'crate' engine specs without getting too extreme, I think the 850 double pumper will over feed the engine....it did mine and one of the reasons I stepped back to a 750. Also, no choke...I'm in Missouri, and have never had trouble starting mine without a choke. More headaches in my opinion as I used to have an electric choke, but removed it after it got stuck on me a few times.

That does fill the engine bay. It appears much more so than an FE. Is the hood "standard" or is the scoop extended?

It's a 'standard' scoop, though I have toyed with the idea of a wider scoop so I can use a 14" filter, mostly prior to going to my current setup. Some of the European replicas (e.g. DAX) use a wider scoop - not as large as the one on the 'Super Snakes', just wider, perhaps a bit higher and a big less rounded.

FWIW, I see Shell Valley has a large scoop in their catalogue - it's listed as 31.5" long, 18.5" wide (presumably flange to flange) and 3.5" high. It also looks like it's more rounded, more like the original style than the slightly angular DAX scoop. Cobra Replica Hood Scoop

The carb is the quick fuel ss-750
The intake is the performer 460
And the air cleaner is the stock hill type 10"
I still have 3 inches left from the cleaner stud
