Default Shifting a monster to the drivers side?

Thanks Tim. You have any interest in having a phone conversation to educate me a bit on these big blocks. I am helping out an old friend with this car he is attempting to build.

Default Looking for more information

Any reason why it would go on the passenger side and not the drivers? Educate me please!

Default 429

I am running a 429 originally from a 71 T-Bird. The engine was rebuilt with high compression TRW pistons, Edelbrock dual plane intake, mild cam for rpm range of 1500-5000 rpm. I don't have any dyno or hp info on the setup. It has great low end and midrange, great for street cruising. Would love to try a set of the late aluminum SVO heads, intake and SVO cam for the 460 for more top end power.

When I was contemplating ci for my car had no clue how much would be too much.Wish now had trusted my gut and gone with 500+cubes.The 460 I built has all the go fast goodies was blueprinted and is a sweet motor but still wonder what say having the cubes like your 545 would be like.
Was the 545 built for topend power or off idle grunt? What is it like driving around, and have a lot more questions.
Have been thinking about pulling aluminum topend off the 460 and setting up for big solid roller cam getting into the 650 hp range. Mike Ross

I have a 1970 460 that has been modified by New Generation Engines of Fonthill Ontario Canada. The unit produces 740 HP/ 680 foot pounds of TQ at 6000 rpm. Lots of grunt as the torque starts to kick in at 1400 and pulls strong to 4500. Then the RPM takes over to 6000. The carb is a Holley 4150 HP Double pumper (No choke) flowing at 740 cfm. It works great! That is if ya don't run out of road.

Default 429 SCJ-RA-Drag Pak

Hello All : Dan here, been a member for quite some time running a 71 Mach 1
429CJ-RA 4-speed in original Grabber Blue. Documented 1 of 2 known left to
exist according to the 429 Mach 1 Registry with factory A/C.

Recently added a new member to the family in the form of a Candy Red 70
Cobra. Numbers matching front to rear "barn find" with the real deal 429SCJ
w/ram air - 4 speed - Drag Package. Yup the original "W" code 4.30 locker is still in place.

I'm 50% done on a concour rotisserie OE restoration - but times being what they are I'm considering letting it go. Wishing everyone a fine day & hope to visit again soon.

Our 460 powered car has been keeping us happy for 21 yrs. now. Over the years have tweaked the suspension to road race, stepped up the performance to near 530hp. Except for a racing seat and stickier rubber the car is a pure thrill ride. The best hot rod we have ever owned bar none.
