Default Inglese Sidedraft EFI System

Inglese has a sidedraft EFI system that bolts up to a dual quad manifold. Has anyone looked at this setup for installation on a 385 engine in a Cobra? Note: Also available in single quad version.

This looks like it might fit under the hood depending, of course, upon the height of the manifold it's bolted to.

It's not cheap at $6K plus manifold, but certainly has potential.

Thoughts?

Never this but once considered the 8 Stack had the hardest time thinking about giving up the characteristics of a carbed engine. Yes, I admit a tad old school but it makes me very happy.
This setup would look great on your 460.

I don't have that setup from them but I do have the eight-stack. I love it and I think the cross-draft is gorgeous, I liked the near classic look. I'm sure you would be happy if setup correctly.

When you consider costs: Don't forget you will have to replace the fuel pump, add a high-pressure fuel line, and provide for a return (use the old line). You may also want to consider a different cam to ensure proper tuning, or you may get less than expected performance. I will let Keith Craft or one of the other engine builders comment on the specifics.

I understood the HP fuel pump and return line issue - I had my new gas tank made with an extra bung for future use.

BTW, it was my understanding the reason different cams are required for Weber carbs is the issue of the vacuum signal 'seen' by individual throttle bodies. I could be wrong, but I understood this was less of an issue with individual EFI throttle bodies. Regardless, the Inglese cross-draft system uses a standard single or dual quad manifold with a plenum, so should that not eliminate the need for special camshaft selection (at least as it applies to individual runners and throttle bodies)?

Perhaps the question is best asked of both Inglese and an engine builder like Keith Craft - hopefully there is some consistency in their recommendations!
