A factory high-torque gear reduction starter was used on '92-'96 E-series w/460; and 92-97 F-series w/ 460. While most of these were for automatics, they will work on manuals as well. Only difference is the nose; the manual trans starters had a slightly shorter nose cone. Added plus is the late model case is quite a bit smaller and the unit lighter. Worked like a champ in my old car. If your parts house is too high, check these guys:

I bought one from them and it was quite good in performance & price. You should also run a ground from a starter bolt to frame to get max performance.
