Smile FE,429,460 build-opinions

I need some input(not a shaft either).Following the parameters below i'd like your best(educated)guess as to HP/torque figures

CI is limited to 470
no rollers-hyd.or solid flat tappet
no "one-offs"-must be sittin'-on-the-shelf parts
Engine would have to be designed to make power from 2500 to 6500rpm.

Bill,

If you can give me a few more of the specs you want to use I can run it through my dyno program and give you a pretty close estimate to the horsepower, however the torque will be low. For some reason this program has always read torque from 20 to 45 pounds low depending on the setup but the horsepower readings have always been within about 5-10 of the actual dyno results and the RPM range has always been right on. Carb size, intake type, dual or single plane, cam specs and type of heads and exhaust system would be mostly what I need. Also as Jeff mentioned, are you going to port the heads or anything. Even pocket porting adds a good amount of power. Porting and matching the intake to the heads will help a lot too.

Ron

Sorry guys-
Exhaust-Headers into three inch-pick the mufflers
Any cam as long as is NOT a roller
any intake
any carb
Porting allowed

But remember that the idea is to make as much HP/Tqe in the band mentioned in the original post.
I know these motors are capable of much more but at higher RPMs.

Bill,

One more stupid question. You say no rollers-hyd or solid flat tappet. Does that mean you want a regular hydraulic cam and no roller rockers or anything like that and no solid cam at all ? I have several different combinations that are built into the program that I can choose from.

Thanks,

Ron

Damn-i really should wait untill i'm concious to type.
It should read-NO rollers.

The cam must be a flat-tappet.
