Tony-
You have more nice cars than one man should be allowed to own. Very jealous
Here's mine, 428 from Southern Automotive.

AL Ford Racing block is about $3600.
Weighs 122 lbs. 302 is 137 lbs. 351W is 205 lbs.
Can go to 454 CID. Block reinforced, 4 bolt mains, etc. Good for over 1,000 HP.

Has it been dynoed yet? Who makes the block?
So the 302 AL weighs 137 and the 351 AL block is 205? What does the 122 lb number belong to?

Sorry for the confusion. Made sense when I was typing!
302 stock cast iron is 137
351 stock cast iron is 205
351 AL is 122, see the Ford Motorsports Catalog
Engine dynoed at 668 with open open headers

Bart, are you sure about the 351W being 205? I cant see a 1.2" taller deck weighing in 70 lbs more (then the 302).
Was that completely bare or with the caps? I have one in the garage I can weigh on the bathroom scale (it's one of the better ones ) when I can dig it out.
My (old) 460..

427sharpe that Boss engine is sweet. I'll bet that was almost as much as the car, unless you were one of the fortunate ones that bought one from the H-M garages sale several decades ago. Did you aquire it complete or have to piece it together? Love the Nascar intake, you can afford to kill a little bottom end power, actually it may be a neccesity in such a light ride.

Tom
Thanks.....it sure has been more than I originally bargained for...I have learned many more 4-letter words and earned a merit badge in patience.....
But the end finally did justify the means....except my means are pretty well dried up for now..
Hope you are having a great holiday season...

351 Cleveland
Here's the 351C in my ERA FIA car during build-up. I installed a dummy engine so that I could get the headers fabricated (note aluminium cylinder head on left). Had two sets of headers made, one for the iron "BOSS" heads, and another set for the "High Port" Ford Motorsport aluminium heads.
I ended up milling a quarter inch off the top of the carb mounting pads, as it looked like they were going to hit the inside of the hood scoop (they actually stick right up through the hood opening).
Here's what the finished product looks like:
Not a lot of chrome - looking for that "retired race car" look. One of these days, I hope to get the aluminium heads on it.
regards,
Jeff
