You highly under estimate the 460 crate motors. They were under rated at 560 by Ford. A mag dyno'd one which they admitted was still tight and with an 850 out of the box at 577 hp.
I had some port work done by one of the best shops, Fast Times in Morton Grove, Illinois as well as port matched intake and a BG 950. I had 10" slicks and she was set up for launching, 1.6's short times. Do the math 4300 (with me) at 116+ is only about 520 rwhp, that's a little over 600 at the crank. My loose engine, port work and better/bigger carb was easily worth 25 over the crate motor fresh/stock out of the box. One of the mags did an article on one of the first crate motors sold. It went in a Torino they said was 4100 lbs but didn't indicate with/without driver, ran 11.1's over 122. They also didn't say what rear gear. They did say it was as delivered with the exception of 15 minutes of clean up with a sanding roll on the ports. Definitely less then my port work.
Naturally even with exact same combo's you can have a wide variance in performance. I was happy but still thought I'd do better by 2-3 more tenths with the extras I had I figured I'd at least 11.3's
I have an AVI clip, about 5 meg, clip of one run. This was before I had slicks and before I started dialing in the set up. It's not the best clip as this was mid level video capture technology from way back in '97, but you can clearly see the white wall tires, 225x75's (I dig sleepers), hear the engine via the open headers and see me lay waste to a modified LT1 Trans Am. The boards weren't working (if they were it would be hard to read with my friends crappy camera work) but this was a 12.6 around 112-114. I averaged high 1.90's on the street tires. The TA was a high 12-13 flat car I think just under 110 (07 to 09).
I can email it to you (anyone) if you like or if there is a place to upload it to I can do that too.

SVO460 - I posted my engines weight earlier in this thread and it is consistant with your given weights. Remember I have a big 40 lbs. weight air pump on my iron. As for how it ran last summer I was bitterly disapointed, but I guess I have to remember it was the first times out. I ran 10.50's out of the box at IRP, with 1.30's shorts and major tranny problems. My car weighed 2800 at that time. Since then I've done major work on the suspension, both front and rear, added Wilwood brakes, and switched to a Coan/Dedenbear glide with a 10" converter. I plan on innercooling next season and with a new aluminum radiator I should be about 180 lbs lighter too. My stated objective of this very streetable car is to go 9.5's or below. I get up to Chi town every once in awhile but it's usially with a Mopar crowd around me.
You are correct that folks around this board grossly under estimate the power of 385's. But what you under estimate is the fact that Cobras can't use that 385 power in almost all cases too.
