Thanks Mike,

You hit the nail right on the head. I wanted to go more in-depth with the available rockers out there, but I thought it best to not mention the stuff that won't bolt on a stock head.

W&W also makes Boss Hemi rockers for the IHRA boys (M-6049-A441) heads.

I personally want to find someone in the manufacturing arena that will listen to me when I tell them that there is a huge need for Boss 429 rockers out there. I have a great bolt-on offset design that I want to make and offer to all the Boss 9 owners out there, so they can get rid of the wimpy stock rockers and put some real valvetrain gear in their Bosses, and start making some real power!

Anything else, give me a shout!!

Eric

Have you talked to Rocker Arm Specialists?
www.rockerarms.com
They make roller rockers for ford Y blocks, FEs, 427 SOHCs,
an other less prolific engine types.
They seem to be resonable in pricing.
Maybe you can persuade them to make Boss '9 rocker kits.

Gentleman:
BOSS 429: The INTAKE rocker from A/R is rediculous. Everything about it is incorrect. Simply it's back side (Pushrod) is in the wrong place, and the stand height is no where close to correct. Together they act as a lever to place extreme leverage on all components, because of extreme OVER-ARCING on BOTH sides.
>
BOSS 429: The JESEL rockers, circa 1982 for the original BOSS design, including the aberation made by A/R which still accepted the original BOSS valve train, have too many ills to list. Bias side thrusts which Jesel had no clue about (then or now) is one of them. Secondly, as with most of DJ's stuff, the Intake rocker is their BB Chevy design; the Exhaust (and intake) are grossly twisted away from engineering standards that were developed by Ford for the complexities that the pushrod's exit the tappets from; and the method for "precision" (LOL) that is provided for whomever the poor machinist/mechanic happens to be to install them on any BOSS head is inappropriate - to be polite. The steel "fixtures" (LOL) that is provided by Jesel might as well be a hand held drill while you lean over your fender. Don't worry about the metal shavings; you'll have other problems.
>
BOSS 429: The only way that the Factory Steel rockers were ever adequate for the BOSS 429 was when valve lift remained at .600" and under. As soon as it crested toward .700" and springs pressures passed 200lbs, forget it. I've worked with this engine a little while, in the past, and my critical attitude is from experience, fixing too many other guy's engines (like all of you) who brought me the results of using the "options." Sorry I can't offer too many alternatives today, but buying, trading and trying any of the components I've just spoke about is without a doubt an exercise in both futility and pain; especially financial pain.

Hey guys I was reading your posts. Try contacting C & C Motorsports(www.candcmotorsorts.com) & ask for Carrol Carter. He produces the old syle Ford Motorsports Hemi Head ( A441). He also has everything for complete engines. He also has blower manifolds for 10.3" blocks. I have ordered a set of hemi heads & a cast single 4 barrel manifold from him. I met him at his shop & he is extremely nice guy & very intelligent when it comes to engines.
