Thumbs up 460 mounts

Hi Guys, before I glue the body down finally I am thinking wether the engine mounts I have are the best for the job, I am using 1971 T/Bird types, they employ a long bolt through an upstand on the chassis, trouble is on the T/Bird I believe the mount fits snugly over the mount so there would be little slop(side to side) on my chassis its not as snug so there is scope for much more movement, therefore stress on the rubbers, I could redesign the chassis mount and cut/weld? or which mounts do others use to good effect? any info/pics advice appreciated. Thanks Dave (UK)

Hi Dave,

Not much help here: look in my Gallery at the "undercar exhaust" photo on the second page. It doesn't show the mount too well but it's the best I've got. It looks like the bolt goes through the frame extension horizontally.

Tom

Look at about 88 truck mounts they use 2 studs and are stouter.
