Exclamation Need 460 engine builder

I am currently trying to find a REPUTABLE engine builder in my area( Magalia,CA.) which is near Chico, and about one and one half hour's north of Sacramento. The motor is based on a SVO 460 block, Blue Thunder heads, Bryant crank, GRP aluminum rods and a comp cams # 34-715-9 for a total displacement of 598 inches. I have all bearings, studs and still need a Jesel belt drive and intake, possibly Hogan. My engine builder Ron Powers in Oroville recently died. If anyone can reccomend a guy who knows Ford motors around this area it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve

This might help in your 460 build... http://popularhotrodding.com/enginem...blockshootout/

Good info on oil flow, exhaust and cam/intake/heads combo. They used a stock crank and rods and wound up with 618HP on 92 octane, naturally aspirated!

Steve,

Sorry to hear about your engine builder. Tom Lucas at FE Specialties would be my first choice. He is excellent. His shop is in North Sac right off of I80. I would be happy to speak with you as a satisfied customer any time.

Good luck, John

While I would like to offer my services, it appears you want somebody close to home. If that is the case, I would suggest you contact Paul Kane in the bay area. He's a great guy and knows the 429/460 series very well.

He can be contacted at this address:

You could also check out Dave Dralle at Dralle Engineering. His shop it right at the Willow Springs Raceway.

I can tell you from personal experience he knows how to make reliable HP/TQ numbers from the 385 series engines.
