Keane,

Several of the guys around here are using the Optima Batteries and I haven't heard any complaints. I personally use a 1000 cca Motorcraft Traditional Battery that has served me well.

i am using an optima on my spf. i started with the red top about 2 yrs ago but for some reason it quit taking a charge. i am probably at fault as it sat discharged for a while. i replaced it with a yellow top this year and so far so good. i am running a 408w fuel injected, msd, fast engine management, electric water pump, weldon fuel pump. all of these items require lots of juice and the optima has shown no bad manners yet.

My red top has been working good for years, though it needs to have a battery tender on it for the summer or it will go dead. I bought a cheap solar powered one and it hasn't given any problems.

They tend to do better in a "deep cycle" application. I've had the same Interstate now for 6 years with no problems. Cobras are pretty easy on batteries.

I have an Optima 34R Red Top in the ERA now for 3 years. Runs solid. I put a trickle tender on it about once a month in the winter and it is at 100% in about 40 minutes. Nice battery... no acid spill or mess. Been running one in my SC400 for 6 years and it is still going solid.
