Default Will dove-c heads on a stock 77 460 run on pump gas without problems?

Hi everyone, I am new here. I have found a rebuilt set of dove c heads for a good price and am wondering if they will run on 93 octane gas without pinging problems on a stock 460 from 1977 lincolyn. thank you in advance.

Compression should be in the 9.5:1 range with the small chamber heads. Cylinder pressures will be within the realm of premium unleaded gas with just about any performance cam or even with a stock cam.

In our Pro Street 53 F100, we have a 70 429 and in 70 the HP pretty much max'd out before smog engines after that. We find that it pings on 93 octane (as it wants 100) if we hook up the vacuum advance. Have been told that the cam timing is a factor in that. By 77 the cam timing should be fine for lower octane fuels. As Carl says, if the compression ratio is low enough (9-10), then it should not ping on 93. Careful on distributor timing, follow a safe curve.
