Default 514 (460) oil usage

hi all, I have about 5000 on my 514 crate motor and just took a trip to Monterey.....490 miles each way....things ran great on the way up...overcast about 70 degrees.....no oil usage. On the way back I hooked up w/a few guys that ran pretty hard.....about 3600 tach (115-120mph?) down the 33 w/of the 5 n of Bakersfield.....outside temp appx. 105...car temp ran just under 200....but stopped for gas and dipstick was dry! took 4 quarts to top it off. thank goodness for 10 qt oil pan.....car runs a little hotter now but still stays just under 200. Do you think I did any damage? just break-? I know this is a bracket racing engine but c'mon....3600 rpm shouldn't push it that much....should it? Any advice would be most welcome as I don't want to run the car much until I'm comfortable......running Castrol Syntech right now for what that's worth. You're talkin to a rookie here but I want to learn so thx in advance for your opinions........

Default Oil usage

I would check for leaks. I have a built 460/ 800 hp and a small leak can pump out a lot of oil. Goog Luck, Ed

Check the spark plugs. If they are all a nice tan color and not wet, you have a leak.
