Kris,
Are you aware of Jon Kaase's Boss 429 efforts?
Here are some of the details: 460ford.com :: View topic - Kaase/Boss 429 test #3

Stuff's on ebay pretty regular. Seems like complete engines (not rebuilt) were fetching $13k and up.
Any one ever squeezed one of these in a Cobra? I remember hearing the Mustang required narrowed shock towers to get it in.
My brother told me stories about when the two in town would come into the Sunoco he worked at to fill up on 260. I tried very hard to talk Mom into buying one when we were at the Ford dealer, about a year later she traded in the '65 Belair on a shiny new... Mavrick.

Thanks for all the replies so quickly.
Tom, I was under the impression that Jon wasn't making an exact copy of the OEM head, his was more for race than street. I read through you're linked thread and can't tell if he's doing a race head or an original head. Do you know what the status is?

Kris,
Did you call Bob Gelsi at 856-692-3178? He should have the parts or know who to contact to get them quickly. Tell him I said hello.......

Kris,Kaase's new heads are supposed to be available sometime after March, and they are indeed street friendly.
They use the same 10 bolt configuration but use head gaskets instead of "O" rings and oil the rockers through the pushrod.
He is also working on the rocker arms and valve covers.
Hope this helps

Kris,
Here's the original thread - it has a bit more info than the dyno one, and confirms the street orientation:
http://www.460ford.com/viewtopic.php?t=20258&highlight=
If I read correctly, he will produce rockers that are a bit improved from the originals - and much more affordable, although affordable's a relative term
The original valve covers are supposed to fit fine.
Jon mentions using a hydraulic roller cam too.

The initial production runs of the Kaase Boss 9 heads will be very small until he is completely satisfied with the product, so they will be scarce into the summer. The reference to being a street head is to eliminate any confusion with the hemi heads used on his 1600 hp Pro Stock engines - however, they are nothing like an Edelbrock Performer. So far they appear to have great potential and are at the upper limit of width for a Cobra.
