Hi,
Quick question. Anyone know of any dealers that sell Quick Time Bellhousings for the Ford 460?
As always your help will be appreciated.

http://www.fortesparts.com/
Mike Fortes should have it.
I got my 302 QT BH and my TKO-600 from them. Great service, polite even when asked dumb questions, and fast service.

Vote #2
Vote #2 for Bruce, he designed the system in my car...lakewood/adapter/dodge T56/throw out bearing/pilot for an industrial 429 propane truck crank/ custom clutch setup...not exactly "common" and it fit the *first* time; and holds over 900fwhp.
And, besides, he's a hell of a nice guy...and honest to boot!

D*mn. Over 900 Front Wheel HP.
That torque steer must be a killer.
Sorry, just couldn't resist.

Yep
I find it best to just close your eyes, plant your foot, let go of the wheel, and hope for the best!
Flywheel horsepower, not rear wheel. The car made 760rwhp on the dyno at 5500rpm and I didn't proceed further due to concerns about misfiring. T56 trans is about 13-15% loss, so 858-874fwhp. However, since it barely reaches peak torque by 5500rpm, and peak power on the logger is shown at 7300rpm, which I've seen on multiple occasions now that the ignition issue has been resolved, I think it's safe to say it made over 900fwhp...on CA 91 Octane.
Pretty impressive for a single disk clutch...no slipping, no issues, and over 1500mi abusive miles (track and street) on the setup now.

Thanks for the input. I ordered a bellhousing from Jay, at Vintage Motorsports.

Quicktime Bell
I got a QuickTime bell for my 429 from Fortes. It was 3/8" too short for the Tremec input shaft so the shaft bottomed on the pilot before the trans bottomed on the bell so I returned it. The Quicktime was also clocked counter clockwise about 1/4" so I didn't even want to pursue it as with all the issues and it's not SFI rated, its not worth it.
I had to go through 2 Lakewoods before I got a decent one and I had to use a relocation kit to get that one dialed in.
Hope this helps.
Nick

Let me say a few things about the SFI rating.
All of the Q/T bells pass SFI testing, which basically means that they can contain a flywheel explosion at the specified RPM.
The bells that are not SFI rated usually don't have the bolts that secure the bellhousing to the block plate around the bottom.
For instance, there are two SBF/TKO bellhousings available from Q/T. One of them is SFI rated because it can be secured around the perimeter. The other is not. Most Cobra guys go for the one that is not, because most people end up trimming the bottom of the bells off anyway for ground clearance.
With Quicktime anyway, just because it doesn't have a 6.1 sticker on the bellhousing, doesn't mean it won't protect your legs.

They are light and supposedly will contain a clutch explosion but it won't fit a 429/460 block to Tremec trans so it was useless to me in my aplication.

Right, I wasn't commenting on the fit, just the SFI rating.
