Default Remote Oil filter

Guys,

I am wondering if I can get a number of ideas on where to put my remote oil filter. I am in the process of changing my oil filter to a canster type and it just misses (fit), where it was.

So I am looking to see some other solutions. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

I have an FE but someone may make a bracket to fit a 429/460. Got mine from Finishline.

They do make the brackets as a friend of mine had a 429 in his with a remote filter so he could use the full sized filter. I just don't remember where he got it or where he mounted the filter. The picture shown in Tom's post is the way I had mine but I had a stroked small block and a great place to mount the remote filter.

Thanks guys, I currently have mine on the drivers side mounted to the wheel well. But as I mentioned it will not fit the longer filter.

Tom I am having a tuff time picturing exactly where that is mounted.

Dan, I was looking for the bracket like that as well. Thanks

I just called that friend of mine and he said they mounted his remote filter on a cross brace that ran across to the other frame rail just behind his radiator. We both had Classic Roadsters and that is where I had mine mounted and it hung down just about 1/4th inch higher than the oil pan and I could take it off in a few seconds as there was plenty of room. In fact I almost used a double filter mount there. I wasn't sure on his 429 if he had room there as my small block stroker left a lot of room to work around.

Mike, I have the parts to make one to fit your application. They have the bolt pattern to fit the filter housing that is on special from Finishline. The other end can be drilled and offset with a boss(or not) to your requirements. Let me know if I can help.
