Well, the stock 460 started out at 360 hp with a small carb and lazy cam?

Your mild cam and 750 carb will certainly make that motor a true torque monster,400 hp is not out of the question, with a decent exhaust system.

i think about385to 395 flywheel hp x .88 for losses=347 rear wheel and a bigger carb won't make any more. this should show as 11.54 @117.2. so add a sec for street tires and might do 12.5 or less w driving skill, but the mph will tell you rear wheel hp. i ran a 472 ci (.60 over) 460 w a 284 .486 110 lobe cam and heavily ported d0ve heads w big valves, 2 inch headers,830 dp holly. and saw an average 11.7 @ 119 in a 2600 lb cobra, and all this was done w a stock cleaned up 460 non cj intake and a 5800 red line, 2.5 rear end gears (each shift takes between .2 to .4 of a sec) good enough to go neck and neck with a 650 kawasaki, on street tires, you gotta love big blocks!!!

Personally always look at the plugs, and seat of the pants performance. The way the engine performes, off idle, mid range, and near top end.Jetting is always trial and error.Over the years always using Holley carbs,my tuneup parts are fully stocked.Always do jet changes one size at a time.Assuming your timing is right, the advance curve is close, etc.

As mentioned, make sure everything else is correct before you start playing with jetting. You could be experiencing a timing issue, as mentioned or too much preload on the lifters. If you retained the stock rocker studs and they are positive stop, you couldn't set preload, unless it happened to be correct you would be on one side or the other. When machine work is done( head/block decking) that changes the dimensions between the cam and heads and needs some adjustment. If it is too tight it can create popping through the carb at various rpms...kind of similar to a burned valve.
