Since the uproar over the disputed ownership--widely reported in Autoweek magazine, among others--things have gone mighty quiet about the car. The last I heard, a few months back, was that the car was being given what the English might call a "sympathetic restoration"--i.e., a heavy-duty cleaning with replacement of deteriorated parts and an eye towards retaining every possible original piece. I certainly don't claim any inside track to info so that could be wildly incorrect. I had hoped we might see the car at some of this year's vintage events, like the Monterey Historics, especially since it was Ford's 100th, etc. No such luck. One of these days maybe all six Coupes will be reunited (along with the AC A98 and the Willment Coupe, while I'm wishing)--wouldn't that be a sight. Next year will be the 40th anniversary of Shelby's FIA GT Championship...
