It appears that the first issue of COBRAS is going to feature a comparison article on a Kirkham Replica vs an Original 1966 427 S/C Shelby Cobra. For those of you who are Kirkham fans (natics) you probably do not want to miss this first issue.

The prices quoted by Kitcarman, although at first blush seeming high, are essentially in line with typical British automotive magazines like Classic and SportsCar as well as Thoroughbred & ClassicCars. The postage over the big pond runs the price up. The magazine is cover priced in Britian at 9 Euros or $10.80+ US.

The first issue looks to be over 200 pages in length or size and the production quality of the British auto magazines I have seen is usually of high quality.

I do really wish that COBRAS would do a series of photo articles on original Cobra 427's (S/C and Street) showing detailed and up close images of various components in-situ. (ie: Dashboard and instruments, Dash tubes, foot boxes, door hinges, etc etc.

Thus, issue by issue, the COBRAS magazine would become a visual lexicon for the restorer as well as the Cobra reproduction builder. The hardest part would be to find "unrestored" and original examples of each type of 427 MK III and or 289 MK II.

Additionally, this kind of article set could then be republished later on as a book.

I would certainly like that...

When will the first copies hit the stands BTW? There is a outside chance that some of the major US bookstores could carry the magazine in their vast racks.
