This is likely the answer you don't want to hear, but:

235/45ZR17's front, and 275/40ZR17 have worked fine foir me.

295's should tuck under sheelwells if you backspace wheels correctly.

But honestly, (and here we get back to originality vs practicality), 17"ers are the way to go for performance. They do give the car a more "all buiness" look of todays Musclecars, as opposed to yesteryears antiques.

I will say this: Once you bolt on a set of 17's and take 'er out for a test drive: 1) You won't believe it's the same car, 2) you won't put your 15's back on.
