Dan: You can't deduct the BJ commission from the price. The price paid for the car is the price paid. The fact that 8% comes off the sale price for BJ is of no moment. Thats what the car sold for. Perid. Who gets what from the proceeds matters none.

KobraKarl: Your "spin" on the annoucers comments on the Shelby items is exactly the opposite of what they were saying. In fact when the GT350SR was being sold they commented on the fact that it was a genuine Shelby remanufactured by him and under his auspices and that while it was a "replica" in one sense it was a REAL Shelby GT350. They even commented on the fact that if Monet' painted more than one of a painting while the first would be the original the rest would be real Monets' just replicas of his previous painting. The clearly recognized the value of the fact the car was a genuine Shelby albeit not one of his originals.

Their comments about the GT350SR and the CSX4000 at the end clearly recognized the genuineness of the Shelby and the provenance of the cars although they clearly pointed out they were not from his original series of cars. Proof of the value of the pedigree is in the numbers. Every CSX sold for over $100K with the run of the mill aluminum Blue w/stripe CSX selling for $145K while the Contemporary, a very nice car, probably didn't bring half its origianl purchase price.
