Probably would have a better chance at getting Mickey Thompson to restart production on their H rated Competitor tires. They were made for slalom and were rated as one of the best for slalom when they were made. They had 295/50/15 and 315/50/15 plus a 255/6015. I have the 295 and 255 on my car. They have a Zero wear rating and are bias ply. They handled as well or better than the Dunlop rain race tires I used in the 70's. The 295 has 9" tread width and don't look as good as the BFG because the BFG's are a bit wider. They didn't have the 315's when I purchased mine but I did see a car with the 315's and they looked great.

I replaced a set of BFG T/A's because I had trouble at the drags even in third gear. No problem with the Mickey Thompson tires even in second gear. In a 1987 test by Auto -X Magazine they were second to the Yokohama A008R tires and beat out BFG T/A R1 and Godyear Eagle VR60 S. Of course tires have been improved since the then.
