I'll weigh in on the cost of "doing it right" as the original owner attempted to do.

I had over 80K in my Contemporary and I did a lot of the minor work myself. Getting over 100K into one is not hard to do if the goal is to get near original specs. Note that my serial number is only 48 cars newer than this one.

The only thing I can find fault with is those damned stainless bumpers and over riders that Contemporary sold. The shape is wrong and the stainless just doesn't cut it for appearance. Being the "purist snob" that I am, I went to Ron Butler and got perfect reproductions of the originals. (see gallery)

Should add that those "gennie Halibrands" are about $800 each without tires.

I got a little bit of a red face when I read the very prosey description. While I didn't get quite as carried away, I wrote a long winded one too. In my case, it did help sell the car.

Now the price? That's a hell of a buy for somebody! Those of you who read this and are looking for your first Cobra or even an upgrade, I'd say jump all over it. You couldn't begin to build this car for that amount of money......just get rid of those junky bumpers!
