Are you reusing OEM or new stuff, ARP studs? I found that the ARP stuff reccamends their lube and a resulting lower touque #. It really makes a difference..On alluminum heads you can start bending things and pulling threads.
The problem with Original 427 was OEM rod bolts ARP has a cure for that.Problem is they measure the stretch I had a engine builder do it since he had the stretch gauge and knew what he was doing and so forth.
