The black ceramic product is more a satin finish. It looks almost just like a powder-coated product. At least, I can't tell the difference. In fact, the processes in the two are probably related, but the ceramic content in the material offers cooling and durability advantages.

The black ceramic product is DEFINITELY available and has been for awhile. My pipes were originally done at JetHot in 97-98. They were still in great shape, but I just wanted them silver. I found a local company that does just as good a job, plus I didn't have to ship them.
