I asked Gene Felton, recent inductee into the Motorsports Hall of Fame, if he held the "pedal to the metal" rounding the very scary downhill high speed turn 12 at Road Atlanta, and he replied:
"Oh Hell NO, no way, I mean, not unless I'm passing somebody"
and he passed me right there later that day.
