Sounds like it's the big end of a rod bearing with that size. Sorry I said it was unlikely earlier.

oil lines backwards and spun #8 rod bearing. I don't call myself "Chairman of Trial & Error" for nothing! Best wishes! You'll be spinning in no time - just not the bearings!!!!
