I have been down the road your on twice (once was my fault and once wasn't).

Given what you have posted (if your crank is not bad) and your engine does not need to be bored you should be able to vat your block, replace all your bearings, turn your crank, and maybe have your rods sized if necessary, re-balance all your internal parts, and re-assembly with new gaskets for less than $1000. I would suggest spending an extra $110.00 and buying a re-useable oil filter from someone like System One. This is the best early warning system out there for catching problems early. Things are going to happen and just imagine how mad you would have been 100 miles from home and this caused your engine to seize.
