When we were racing my 65 Monte Carlo Falcon in vintage races we used the Granada brake set up in the front and the Versailles disk set up in the rear.

Neither were cross drilled or slotted and we used the Performance Friction pads from AutoZone.

The brakes worked great and we never had an over heating problem with either end at TWS. As a matter of fact we had trouble getting the brakes hot enough on this course.

Also we did not need to duct the fronts or rears with this setup at TWS. Now for shorter courses you might need to duct the brakes for better cooling.

We were able to run two (2) seasons on the same brake pads and they were still good.

Just our experience with this set up.
