I also have petrol odour in the trunk of my Shamrock Cobra, yet outside of the car it is not apparent even when sitting in a closed up garage. There is no sign of physical leakage so I have not investigated further at this time. But it did encourage me to buy a fire extinguisher which is no bad thing for any Cobra owner!
