I just finished catching-up on the whole thread and learned much.
I bought my car through Costco (no, it did not come shrink wrapped.) They held the westcoast franchise for awhile and sold at least a couple here in WA. Mine was their first and they had to reprogram their register to handle the sale. They made me check it through their cash register and drive it out the door, and yes someone did mark the register ticket.
I mention this because Costco suppied me with something that may be unusual and of interest to many... I got about a dozen pictures of my car taken during its construction! I'd be happy to share them with you. Let me know who should get them or where to post them.
I also have the Hella Protection system manual - if anybody is interested.
A bit more about my car - its got AC and a Sony radio/cassette removeable faceplate unit. I've got a litle more than 6100 miles on its 5.0 HO engine.
