I use my ERA's cockpit as an overflow garbage can and dust bin.
There is an ERA feature that allows me to take such a cavalier attitude...

The ERA's floor mats (on my ERA) are rather easy to remove being held in with snaps and velcro. This allows me to shake them out and clean them really easily. The carpeted console is another matter, needing a good strong vac. I have a nice 4 HP powerful vac from Groits made by Metropolitan Vac especially for cars. A nice unit.

Also, for some tuff debris, I use a 10" piece of duct tape to tack rag the stuff off of the carpet.
