Mid-Ohio Cobra Club
First Meeting
Saturday, May 15 (Rain Date: Saturday, June 5)
Lexington, OH
Attention Ohio Cobra Club Members!!
Just what we need, another chapter of the OCC, right?
Well, there just so happens to be a really great race track in Lexington, not to mention, it’s a nice central location between Cleveland and Columbus. It seems like a natural outlet for OCC members from all over to gather!
Please join us on May 15th for a meet and greet in Lexington at the Clear Fork Reservoir. There are 5 picnic areas at the reservoir, and I’m not sure yet which one will be our venue, but they are all within a mile of each other, so those details will come later.
At this meeting, I will be distributing a calendar of events to be held in the area. Being a race town, Lexington (and surrounding cities) seems to be a hotbed for car related events. None of them are necessarily Cobra specific, but it’s always nice to make a PRESENCE, rather than just an appearance.
There’s nothing quite like seeing a parade of Cobras (even if it’s just 3 or 4) rolling into the track together, or just cruising through town.
The event will be free, and soft drinks and snacks will be provided at the lake. Unfortunately, the reservoir is owned by the City of Mansfield, and as such, it is a DRY venue. What to do?
Well, I figure we can spend an hour or two there, snack, meet each other, pick up some goodies, and then we’ll all head into Lexington (5 minutes away) for pizza, burgers, fries, and beers at Buck’s or Mike’s (both local race crowd hangouts).
This is NOT a “car” event, so don’t worry about the weather. However, it would be great to see everybody’s beautiful car, so if the forecast is looking bad, I will reschedule for June 5. If it’s raining on June 5, bring the family cruiser, and we’ll find shelter!
I will post more details later, and hopefully Rick can add this to the OCC calendar.
I look forward to seeing many of you that I’ve already met and meeting new people on 5/15.
