I too had that funky flange but my install was way too expensive at $1,100 for a $25 scoop!
The good thing is it is molded in using carbon fiber so it isn't going anywhere no matter how fast I go which was important to me. Now I won't be the only B.S.'er (BIG SCOOP'ER) around here - I was enjoying it but thanks to this thread I've gained insight to how I can claim originality on the basis that my/our scoop raced!!!
I'm glad I don't have one of those little/small thingie's up there! Cool!
