I have a close friend who races Pro Miata in SCCA and Hankook are the required tires in that class. They are a DOT race tire and work very well. He says they are comparable to the Kuhmo DOT race tires he used to run.

I met the Hankook chief tire engineer the other day when my friend was comparison testing tires for Hankook. He was a bright guy and very interested in making improvements based on the testing results. Hankook appears to be moving toward producing very high quality race tires.

I don't know anything about their street tires - or even if they make them.
