I just had my brake & light inspection done at White Automotive in La Habra...I know, it's So Cal, not No Cal, but my advice is to shop around if you can. It seems as tho few shops are set up to do it and the price range varies. A friend of mine had his done in Escondido for $90 and it was a fast 15 minute look-over. One inspector. whether it's a building inspector or a brake & light inspector, will interpret the code book a bit different from another.

My inspection took about an hour and the guy took off a front and rear wheel to check the rotors and brake lines. For the most part the shop guys were enthusiastic about the Cobra. My one "hangup" was the requirement to put a backup light on the car. They showed me the "Book" which said so. No problem. the Tremec has a reverse switch built into it. It was pointed out to me that the backup lens was not D.O.T. marked..but what the hell, it's good enough he said. He knew darned well that I was going to remove it as soon as I got home.

Good luck!

Dave
