Well, JP, you're not an "official" Cobra guy until you endure a good storm...and soft tops are for wimps!
I got my first drenching during the first DVSF, on the way to the drag strip. Who else remembers that?
And several more after that. Nothing as bad as what you got, tho! Hail must REALLY hurt, cuz rain ain't no picnic!
