In addition to the gearsets popping out of the fine synchro teeth because they were not even a little undercut (and the alloy case moved around too much), the tailpieces had a habit of fatigueing, cracking and breaking under load, even including downshifts.
Few serious people ran them after the word got around, because who could afford to DNF?
It is a collectors piece, to be sure, and would be nice on a milktoast 289 street car. Sell it to someone that isn't hot footed and get something much better (like a toploader in an alloy case) from Lee or even a new 600 5-speed from Tremmec.
But, if you need the engineering experience...
