It's unusual not to use any shims behind the throwout bearing but before you do anything rash...

Adjust the play by screwing the threaded rod out of the rod end at the clutch throwout lever. Remember - you are pushing the piston nearly all the way into the clutch slave.

If the rod is still too short (you should have at least 3/8" of thread in the rod end), we'll send you a longer one.
