In your example, the
oil would be coming out due to centripetal force. If the valve covers were holding the
oil in, they would be doing so with equal but opposite direction centrifugal forcce.
Sorry, my high school physics teacher engrained the difference in my head, never to be forgiven again. Yes, I remember high school physics. Better than I remember college history!!!
