MAM Spring Meet 2004
This is to acknowledge the efforts of the NorthWest Shelby Club who was resonsible for the 3 days of track time at Mid-America Motor Plex in Council Bluffs (Omaha) this past weekend.
Although the weather was a little brisk the event was managed perfectly and when someone had a problem on the track the appropriate actions were taken to protect all racers. Drivers meetings were to the point and with a minimum of BS so we all got maximum track time.
Classes were well managed and those that could run fast did and those that wanted to educate themselfs to the lines of the track and abilities of their cars were not intimidated by the faster drivers. Two of my team mates were breaking in brand new engines (Davids was barely hours old) and the lower classes allowed them to run the engines as they wanted to do. Approx 60 cars showed up and not all were Fords but all drivers and cars were treated fairly.
For those of you in the area of Mid America Motorplex I want to complement you on your facility and I hope you take advantage of some of the test and tune or high speed touring sessions they have from time to time. Track time can only help us all whether on a race track or a freeway.
Great Job NWCC and we will see you at Road America in August.
