I've noticed a few people asking about going to the Fling without a Cobra. DV has addressed the issue, but I thought it deserved another thread of it's own. I would say that if you are passionate about these cars, and like the Cobra community, aka "family", then it is well worth your trip to come to the Fling. From my experience, it is a gathering of Cobras, but more importantly, it's a gathering of people who share common interests...the car, friends and Team Jenny. I'd be willing to bet there will be no shortage of folks who do have Cobras offering to give rides to Flingers who don't. I know that when my second seat is unoccupied, I'll be happy to give a ride to a Cobra-less Flinger. Anyone one else got an open seat for people? This kinda leads into my question.
Gonna have a 3 month old at this years Fling. With the wife, that makes three of us. Cobra is a two seater.
We're towing and will have a support vehicle to transport my son. However, my wife and I would certainly like to be able to ride together sometime during the Fling. I'd hate to have her just follow us around in the support vehicle, transporting him the entire weekend. Are there any other folks in similar positions? Perhaps we can work out a carpooling arrangement. One day, we'll grab a bunch of kids and transport them in our car. The next day, someone else can use their support vehicle. Or possibly rent a van? I'll make sure our son is fed and content before getting into your car. He's got lungs that can rival a nice small blocks' exhaust...
