At our office we have been running etrust antivirus software kicked norton's to the curb. Have not had a problem with a virus getting onto our computer's or network. Have run into a few problems printing things when virus is active but easily fixed. I have heard from people more knowledgeable than myself that norton's is not the best out there anymore... believe me I had used norton's for years but repected their advice . Just something to check into. Try working without your computer just for a day and see how productive you are. Jumping in one of your cars and taking the day off is not an option
Point is that we have become so dependant on these things that you are constantly tweaking them to get the most out of them (and keep them working) to make you more profitable. And what a pain it is when something goes wrong.
We use adaware 6.0 here at work and have not had anything like that happen. Should be able to download a free version somewhere. Hope this helps.
