Its a process of appling REAL aluminum to surfaces like fiberglass, plastic, and even other metals. Its very durable, I have had it on my ERA for 6 years and Rick (COBERA) had it done last year and both hoods look like new. One neat feature is after its been polished the new aluminum surface can be treated with may differant kinds of finishing techniques like the turnings effect of the scoop area.
